With more than 11,000 trees and bushes planted and hundreds of volunteers involved, Lars van Peij and the Maasheggenmooi initiative are the winner of the 2026 European Tree Planting Day Award for their outstanding commitment to biodiversity, landscape restoration, and local heritage.
