Avenue of Freedom'24
The new Avenue of Freedom was established on Saturday, November 9th, in the Broumov region, where persecution of clergy from all over Czechoslovakia was concentrated during the previous communist regime. In the 1950s, an internment camp for priests and monks from various orders was set up in the local Benedictine monastery. By planting the Avenue of Freedom, we commemorated the past and expressed our respect for those who suffered and fought for our freedom.
The event is organized within the project „Planting Our Future”, supported by the International Visegrad Fund. Its aim is to exchange knowledge and experience in the field of tree planting and tree care programs in Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Project partners: Fundusz Partnerstwa, Klub Gaja (Poland), Nadace Partnerství (Czechia), Nadácia Ekopolis (Slovakia).
The planting of the Avenue of Freedom takes place as part of the European Tree Planting Day initiative, which aims to unite communities, schools and environmental organisations across Europe to plant trees.

Everyone is welcome! Municipalities, companies, NGOs, and individuals are encouraged to join the initiative, either by registering a planting activity or participating in one.

Yes, everyone is welcome to organise their own planting event: organisations, NGOs, municipalities, environmental initiatives or even schools!
